    With a solid thud, the white, leather wrapped ball arced gracefully over the net.  With a call of “Mine!” a golden brown shepherd in a loose, satiny, black swimsuit settled under the ball and bumped it toward the net.  His partner, a lanky lynx in tight red shorts and wrap-around shades shuffled into position and then pushed it high before quickly ducking out of the way.  Black shorts launched into the air, slamming his paw onto the ball and sent it careening towards the sand in the back corner of their opponents' side.
    Nearly caught flat footed, a golden retriever lept to intercept the speeding ball.  He stretched out and swung upwards, sending the ball almost straight up before he crashed hard to the beach.  A dingo wearing flat black trunks scrambled over and smacked it very high, and then scooted clear.  With a low growl, the goldie regained his footing, glanced up, and timed his jump...
