His father was always the military man, never really giving much more then the strictest of rules to his children as well as his wife. Though the wife, Payton's mother, couldn't care all that much; she just quietly sat there and let him say what he would. Payton was always the rebel of sorts, he wasn't much for that 'march to the military' beat like his father, though he was extremely bright and found pride in completing his school work when he did. He moved out of the house first chance that he got and feels he's better for it, even if he feels bad for leaving his mother and siblings there.
