Matthew Roland.

Matt's father was a soldier who died in combat just a few months before he was born, just one week before he was to be shipped back home, and just two weeks before he and Matt's mother were to be married. His mother remarried several years later, but they divorced before too long. Matt got a little brother named Christopher out of the deal.

 He grew up in Tampa, Florida, where he spent the first fourteen years of his life with the same group of friends all through elementary school and middle school. Then his mother's job required them to move. So, they picked up, drove nearly a thousand miles, and set down roots in Cincinnati, Ohio. He spent his entire freshman year a loner with no friends to speak of.

 Then in sophomore year he tried out for the soccer team. He was captain of the JV team by the end of junior year, captain of the varsity squad by the time he graduated, and he was friends with nearly everyone he knew. He was also the fastest on the swim team, and passable at football. He couldn't hit a tree with a baseball bat, though.

 He dated a bit, but never any one girl for very long. It seemed that he understood them too well, comprehended their emotions and thought proccesses too fully, and so they all seemed to prefer to be his friend.  And, honestly, he preferred to hang otu with his female friends than with the guys. He would go out with his friends Cherise and Trisha on Saturdays, the mall, amusement parks. He would even spend hours with them at the spa.

 Thus, when he started blushing at the mention of a certain name at a sleepover at Cherise's house, he was the only one surprised to see the red on his face in the mirror. As it turned out, his two best friends, and several of the other girls, had come to the conclusion months earlier. When he got up the courage to ask his friend Jonathan, from his math class, out to a movie, Cheri and Trisha were overjoyed, and he didn't hear the end of it for weeks.

 He didn't really mind though, because in very short order, he fell head over heels in love. He and Jonathan date for half of sophomore year, and all of junior and senior years. Whiel some of his jock friends didn't approve of that part of his life, most of the people he knew didn't really care (except for some of his girl friends who thought it was positively adorable). So, for a few years, he was popular, successful, and happy.

 In the summer after senior year, however, Jonathan and his family moved to Ontario, also for business, and for a while Matthew was utterly bereft. He never got over it, it still aches somewhere in the back of his mind and the depths of his heart, but he got past it, grew through it, and he's happy today, though he hasn't found anyone new yet, and he doesn't really know what he wants to do with his life, since when he spoke to a recruiter for the Marine Corps., they wouldn't taken him, due to his asthama, and a knee condition he suffers from.

Drawing, writing, reading, watching action movies, soccor, swimming, the ocean, roller coasters, fast, sexy cars, animals (except for cats, as he's allergic), hot guys, painting, Legos, roleplaying, cards, hunting, fishing, hiking, camping, video games, and lots of other stuff.

Cats, peanuts, passion fruit, pine trees, and poison ivy, because he's allergic to them. He also dislikes bullies, morons, and simpering, pestering, or nagging people.
