Benjamin Marx

Benji is an England native who came to Demegon when he was a child. He became life-long friends with Kuro, and their childhood was spent getting into as much trouble as the two possibly could, much to the detriment of Benji's family. Despite Benji's knack for joyriding however, he displayed genuine skill and knowlege about almost anything having to do with driving and maintaining cars. A skill he keeps to this day.

That skill found him in the Demegonian Republic Army along with his childhood friend Kuro, and the two quickly rose through the ranks as Benji found that he also had a knack for guns. Both friends were drafted into a special task force that would go undercover to infiltrate an enemy PMC that had been committed multiple war crimes and attrocities.

 The squad had success, Benji in particular impressed his unsuspecting peers, but there was a cost. He was forced to commit war crimes himself, executing prisoners, kidnapping family members and even raping an innocent woman as part of a "hazing ritual" to ensure that there was plenty of blackmail should the task force ever move out of line. The pressure finally made Benji snap; his cover was blown and the task force made a near-suicide attempt to rescue those captured. 

 Benji might have survived his opperation, but the acts he has witness and even performed himself in the military had left a deep scar. He fell into alcoholism and depression, placing no value on his own life and pursued criminals wrecklessly in some attempt at redemption.

 Presently, Benji was been pulling out of his depression now that he's found a new purpose aiding Nova and his friend Kuro. While he still has a long way to go, there is no better, or more dangerous friend to have, than Benji.

Benji is about as classy as they come, with a tall, slender build emphasized by tailored suits and blazers. His iconic purple Lotus Exige mirrors his tastes in women; exotic and slightly dangerous. That being said, he often retreats behind a shell of drunken anger when feelings of his past overwhelm him, and he struggles with a deep-rooted sense of guilt and shame that drives him to sacrifice his own needs for others. He is known for being exceptionally polite to women, and exceptionally cross with anyone getting the better of anyone else.

His war days have made him a bit jaded and cynical, and his dry British humor has grown into dark comedy, but he does have a heart buried under his 3-piece suit and kevlar vest.
