Cade was an the result of an experiment involving manipulating the genetic structure of a human female gamete to accept a pokemon male gamete; Fed mechanically, living in a tube until he was the size of a water bottle.  Once he was past the nursing stage, his growth rate accelerated drastically and his metabolsim burned so quickly he could hardly ever eat enough and was near to death from starvation on multiple occasions. He quickly hit puberty, but his growth stopped entirely afterward, leaving him permanently with the body of a hormonal pubescent teenager; He hasn't gained a pound or grown an inch since then.
There was an earthquake one day and a section of the wall of they facility he was being held at crumbled, and so Cade quickly took the opportunity to leave the place. He's been out on his own for 5 years now, simply enjoying the pleasures of life.
