History
Normally, music isn't all that magical. However, when a young snake and her group of friends discovered a number of magically attuned half-instruments-half-weapons, that all changed. Radically different from normal instruments of that time, Jasmine and her group discovered that by playing the instruments that each member was best at, or well suited for; they could use them as conduits of magic, with the songs they played both supporting each other, destroying threats, and warping reality if they tried hard enough. Unless one of them played the WRONG instrument. Then... well, the results could be rather nasty...
Course, considering their talents (The group originally was a band of Troubadours.); they quickly realized such power would be wasted if they simply remained entertainers... and thus, they all agreed that using their ability to play these instruments offensively and defensively might make them a rather formidable force instead of simply a source of entertainment... as a result, the group formed the Philharmonic Mercenary Coalition shortly thereafter. A group who gradually trained and improved itself with both controlling the magic and fighting normally with the weapons built into each one... so they may use their curious new powers to clean up the world, ensuring the instruments abilities did not go to waste. Originally consisting of only three or so members, but over time blossoming with the discovery of new instruments, they now seek new members, so as to provide them these devices... capable of unlocking the power of music in those who wield them.
Modern storyline:
At least... they would be, if not for the group deciding to foolishly "Play" a jam session all at once with their mystical instruments/weapons. Forgetting they held instruments capable of casting black magic, healing the wounded, defending the weak and doing the impossible... they underestimated the power of the instruments playing in unison. And when the magic became too strong, the song they created together ended up tearing the fabric of reality... pulling them into a vortex which sent them to modern periods. At the same time, draining their instruments of magical power... until they managed to return. Fortunately, they soon discovered that the magic had imbued itself inside them as well... and so long as they had a conduit, they could still attack with magic... if only psychic in nature. Course, modern day weapons were vastly different from their relics... and none of the modern instruments they could find were viable options for weapons. Thus, the group set off to study the modern instruments available to them, and collect various guns used over melee... before combining the two themselves. The group custom building various rifles, pistols and even heavy weaponry such as Recoiless Rifles and SAWS/Rocket launchers into electronic instruments as well. So they could play their weapons, tapping into their psychic powers instead through it. Course, their old codenames had become too stuffy and antique... they adopted new names, based on modern genres; to compensate. Now, they just had to figure out... how to get home.

About
*Copied from elsewhere, updated laterrr*
Opera|Acapella: Illusionist and distraction specialist, possibly also scout. Trickster in a sense. Using voice, this member is capable of creating copies of themselves (Like an acapella band or an Operatic play), disguising as others (By emulating their voice), and finding routes and enemies with echolocation. As well as using shrill notes and sound to burst eardrums and damage opponents. Possible instruments including a pair of Piccolos in the past, which double as stilettos or daggers, and in the future a single piccolo which may also be used to fire poisoned darts like a blowgun. Both instruments being support to their vocal attacks.
