Bane is the demon inside of Nicholas. He took over Nick's body as a child, but they tried to exorcise him. That ended badly when he fought it because he became fused with the boy's soul, a part of him. He regularly took control to run around killing things, regardless of who or what they were. His one joy is in being able to do whatever he pleases, slaughter as many as he wishes, and destroy everything that gets in his way. Recently, Nick has been able to keep him suppressed most of the time, so he tries to find any cracks or weaknesses in his mental defences to be able to come out and kill once again.

Bane uses Nicholas's body, but transforms it into his demon form, meaning that the fur is turned into a thick, armor-like hide and he grows. The only difference is that Nick restrains his power, even when fighting serious, Bane generally only gives small restraints when he's bored and wants to see if anyone can fight him, otherwise he just throws his power out and uses it all to destroy whatever he can at his leisure. He also has much more control over the surrounding shadows than Nicholas.
