He grew up in the southern states of North America as a farmer's son. He grew muscle by plowing the fields all day. When he broke the news to his father that he didn't want to take over the farm in favour of joining the military, his father was surprised. He was saddened by the fact that his farm would one day become an over-grown field but proud that his son was so brave.

 When it came time for the young man to ship out he grabbed one last apple from the apple trees they grew and ate it on the way. The apple had but one seed which he put in his pocket and kept it. This always reminded him of where he came from and to always be thankful of his farm and family.
