Terri's parents crossed a bad-tempered fairy when they petitioned for a child but were ungrateful to their benefactor; the fairy allowed them to conceive, but their child had the characteristics of a dog. They cast her out and Terri was taken in by the creatures of the forest, who taught her how to survive.

Terri likes to run, jump and chase animals for sport, but she is not a hunter; she loves to jump in the water and then shake herself off, splashing water everywhere.

Terri was brought up as best the forest creatures were able, but her experience of the world is limited and she is largely ruled by the instincts of her dog-like nature.
