Cyrax Ashenbone

Cyrax (pronounced Kai-rax) Ashenbone was found as a child his adopting father Mogwa Ashenbone, the shaman of his tribe, wandering at the base of the ancient and abandoned Temple of the Black Soul, a place which was said to hold the soul of a dead god according to his tribe although its true history was lost long ago. He was like a feral animal when he was found, unclothed, unable to speak any language, and seemed to be about the age of eight. On his forehead, though, was a sign, though of what Mogwa could not be sure, for Cyrax had a third eye in the center of his forehead which looked like a black star 'shining' in a void of white. Being as Cyrax had a rather curious and obvious link to this mysterious place of the ancient ones the old shaman could not resist taking the boy in. Over the years Mogwa raised Cyrax as his protégé, teaching him the ways of his craft, how to hunt, how to navigate, what plants and animals where useful and which ones are harmful, how to make shelter and get clean water. Because of the dark and mysterious tales surrounding his origin Mogwa kept him separate from the tribe, out of fear for both of their lives. When Cyrax was ready to be considered a Shaman he was to go on a spiritual journey into the lands, to hunt and live apart from his Teacher, so that he could find his Path.

While Cyrax tends to be very tolerant to others it'd be best not to find out.

Physical/Mental Description:

 

The maned wolf is fairly tone, yet lean, and has common markings and colors. His arms and legs are fairly long and lanky, as is normal for a maned wolf, and are completely black. His muzzle and mane are also black. The main part of his fur is a 'rusty' orange-red color and the last half of his tail is white. He also has a small amount of white fur around his eyes and on his lower jaw. His only distinguishing feature is the third 'eye' on his forehead.

 

The third 'eye' that Cyrax has is actually another organism (of 'alien' origin) that has fused with the maned wolf (or at least the poor maned wolf that was it's victim) at a young age. This relationship, however forced and cold it may seem, is actually a symbiotic one rather than a parasitic one. The organism relies on the maned wolf's body as a base and fuses with the mind, gaining access and control by fusing with the wolf's original consciousness, making a new one. In return the maned wolf has gained the abilities of the other organism, which is able to effect electromagnetism, gravity, and even the thoughts and bodies of other creatures (through electrical impulses). This fusion is permanent and removal would result in death. They are not multiple personalities or beings, they are simply one.

While very intelligent Cyrax's brain works much differently then other mammalians due to the 'alien' organisms integration. Caution should be taken when around him as he uses his 'powers' to probe around and find other creatures, especially when hunting as he doesn't necessarily distinguish between prey that is 'intelligent' or not.

 

Power Limitations: While the ability to manipulate electromagnetism, gravity, and even other organism's minds and bodies may seem god-like, it would also require god-like energy, which is something Cyrax's physical body is quite limited to. Because of this he is able to charge materials and create weak electromagnetic fields, allowing for levitation of objects for short periods of time; and while he may be able to levitate himself for twenty or thirty minutes at a time something like a ten ton stone block, however, would be much more difficult. His telepathic abilities are limited as well and It can take some time for him to actually find the frequency at which another organism operates and establish a link and multiple links are hard to maintain. He can fairly easily communicate between one other organism and himself but multiple conversations are difficult. He can cause other organism to experience sensory input and emotions as well, allowing him to show someone an actual vision or sound, or send the emotional feeling of love, hate, or fear. He can even cause pain and muscle contractions (movement), but those are much harder and more draining for him to do.
